Privacy Policy
Effective: October 1, 2026
What we collect
- Account: your name, an Apple-provided user ID, and (if you choose to share it) your email or Apple's private relay address.
- Photos and captions you send, plus reactions and comments. Photos are stored privately and are visible only to the parent and student on that page.
- Student contact details a parent enters (name and phone number) are used only to open a pre-filled invite message on the parent's own phone. We store the name; the phone number is stored only to let the parent resend the invite.
- Device push token so we can deliver reminders and nudges.
- Subscription status from Apple (we never see your payment details).
What we don't do
- No ads, no tracking across other apps or sites, no selling data.
- No location collection. No contact-list access.
How we use it
To run the service: show photos to the people on a page, keep streaks, send reminders you've turned on, and process subscriptions.
Who sees it
Only the two people on a page. Our infrastructure providers (Supabase for database and storage, Apple for sign-in, push and billing) process data on our behalf.
Reporting and blocking
You can report a photo or block the other person from the photo screen (… menu). Reports are reviewed by us and we remove content or accounts that break these rules or our Terms. Blocking removes the page for both people. Contact support@btgbuilds.com for anything urgent.
Third parties and AI
We do not share your data with any analytics, advertising or AI service. Supabase (hosting and storage) and Apple (sign-in, notifications, billing) process data only to run Kin.
Retention and deletion
Photos are kept while your account is active (that's the point of the library). You can delete your account in the app at any time (Menu → Delete account), which permanently removes your profile, photos (including stored image files), comments and streaks. To withdraw consent for notifications or the camera, use iOS Settings. You can also email support@btgbuilds.com.
Age
Kin is for adults, including college students. It is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data by emailing us. If you're in the EU/UK/California you may have additional rights; contact us to exercise them.
